Forgiveness is a great thing for anyone to practice. And if the forgiveness is attached to your student loan, it’s even better.
The loan forgiveness program is designed for SIH employees that have completed a program that has been designated as “hard to fill.” The positions covered in 2015 are:
Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Pharmacist, and Occupational Therapist.

An employee must show proof of outstanding debt on an educational loan that was taken out to cover their schooling in one of those areas. Loan balance(s) must be shown in order to receive reimbursement. The loan provider will be paid directly.
Sound like winning the lottery? We think so, too. So don’t miss the May 1 deadline to submit an application. Be sure you check the appropriate box for Loan Forgiveness on the application. Qualifying candidates will be invited to a panel interview in the summer before awards are determined.

**The amount of each loan forgiveness award is dependent upon the loan debt and the amount of funding available in the SIH Scholarship/Loan Forgiveness fund.

**The length of the loan forgiveness contract is dependent upon the amount awarded to the employee.

Employees are only eligible for one scholarship or one loan forgiveness award. For example, if an employee received a scholarship for their ADN program, they are not eligible for a BSN scholarship. For example, if an employee received a scholarship for their BSN program and then received educational loans to complete their MSN program, they would not be eligible to apply for loan forgiveness for their MSN since they had received a scholarship when attending the BSN program. Employees will still be eligible for tuition reimbursement.
